Dana Mosely is your host and guide through the mysteries of mathematics on Chalk Dust videotape programs.
Attending Louisiana State University, Mr. Mosely earned two degrees in mathematics - a Bachelor of Science degree in 1968 and a Master of Arts in 1972.
Dana has over fifteen years of classroom teaching experience and twelve years of video teaching experience.
Grade levels range from junior high school through junior college.
Professor Mosely has been the primary video instructor for the college division of publisher D.C. Heath and Company (now Houghton Mifflin) since 1989.
Credentials are one thing, but fundamental teaching ability is the essential element that makes math come alive.
Dana's teaching style is relaxed and easy to understand.
He has a knack for explaining difficult math topics using living room conversation, and in so doing he takes the anxiety out of the most intimidating topics.
Here is what some of Dana's students have to say about his teaching.
"I feel extremely lucky to be a student of this teacher.
He inspired us in many ways."
"The best math teacher I've ever had.
What can I say? This guy is good!
This man has an intensity about his teaching that is very refreshing - it seems like he could teach anything."
"I've had three other math teachers try to get me through this course.
Mr. Mosely succeeded.
That says it all."
"I learned and performed much better than I thought I would.
The instructor was very easy to understand and simplified the material.
Lectures were interesting and stimulating.
I enjoyed the course and instructor."
"Professor Mosely was recommended to me by other students.
His videos were extremely helpful for home study."
